About a month ago, I started a small project with my friend Seeker. Seeker had made the map Dryout, and it was ripe with features, but poorly applied. The game was fun for simple, silly matches, but for any more serious conflict, it was lacking. So we decided to make a map together. I said I would set up a forums and project management on sourceforge [1. Sourceforge Project Website]. After spending a bit of time dickering with the forums, and reaching something i was happy with, i announced my plans on both tremulous.net and sstcentral. The response was unexpectedly good. Normally, people don’t seem interested in my projects, but this one generated quite a bit of interest. Now, we have several people on the forums discussing the map.

The map is going to be a large, feature rich map, with the help of many people, so we plan to incorporate many things. These wont come about without serious discussion and thought. There needs to be a guiding force, and so as the organizer of the project, I have started to make a general outline of the map, in Inkscape SVG. The key word there is Started. I haven’t finished much more than the outline of a warehouse and 2 hallways, but i will steadily work on it over the weekend. Problem is, I can only think of so much at any one time, so ill start on a creative burst, finish it, and then have no more ideas for a while.

Anyway, if you are interested in contributing (even ideas), swing by the forums for the map. There are many open discussions, so please read over them before posting. No one likes forum morons.
