This week, I have rolled out a few new features. Nothing major, but small things designed to improve your experience on this site. Things such as email subscriptions, related posts, Microsoft points icon, and a return of sharing.

One more tweak. The time is now displayed more prominently for posts, this is to make it easier to browse via date.

The update took a bit longer than i had anticipated, so there were some times when things may not have looked right. Rest assured that everything has since been fixed. However, if you see a bug, please tell me in the comments on this post.

Well, to make my site appear better, and more like what i had originally invisioned, i have spent the afternoon tweaking my css and php files to generate the newish version of the site. You should see the changes immediatly, but if you don’t, i will explain them. First off, each post now appears in a little box. The title is at the top, metadata is below it, content is in the center, and comment and view information is at the bottom. The comment count has been moved to the bottom of the post, to remedy some complaints about the word wrap eating it. Along it joins a new feature, views. These count how many times a post is viewed. They do not count my views.

Hope you guys enjoy these features.

Well, this is an important release of the qvm, because it features changes that will hopefully allow the qvm to appeal to more members of the community. 1.6.2 removes a number of the abusive commands[1. That is, !switch, !mix, !trade, !steal, !explode, !drug], and duplicates some of their functionality with non-abusible counterparts. Read on for details.

Well, my site was running a bit slow, so i decided to speed things up a bit. Now, the site is much faster.

The way i increased the preformance was quite simple really. The large banner at the top of the page wasa png image. Png is good for smaller images, but for large ones, it just really doesn’t cut it. However, jpg does work for large images without transparancy, and thats what this one is. So now the image is a progressive jpg, so the page can load wile the image is loading, and still look good.

Also, you may notice that the footer has gotten a makeover. This is partly because that area of the site got no attention, and because i like visual flare.

Yet another release of P-G-Qvm. This one is not as big as the other, but still substantial, and introduces quite a few features, as well as a few bugfixes.

These past few days, I have added a forum to Paradox Designs. This isnt like your average forum, though. This is much cleaner and better.

When you first visit the forums, you should notice how uncluttered it is. This is what I intended. Most modern forum software tries to shove all the content at you at once, whereas this forum lets you choose what you want to see. The emphasis is taken away from individual forums, and instead put on tags and popularity. The forums now become more like categories.

But thats not all. Signing up for a forum account also gets you a comment account on the blog. You can post, edit, and track your comments. Thats right, one account for both services.

I hope you guys enjoy it, and please report any bugs you may have.

<p>Don't be afraid, im not going all out ajax like I did with my first edition of this site. All i have done is add a bit of ajax. A little teeny bit. You likely will rarely ever notice it.</p> <h3>Calendar</h3> <p>Yes, the calendar is back. I rethemed it, and now it matches this theme much better. Now you can see what i post when. Its just as fast as it was before, and just as easy to use. You can see it in the 2nd column</p> <h3>AutoMore</h3> <p>This is what i like to call it. Basically, now when your reading over my blog, and you want to read more of an article, and there is a more link, you dont have to wait for a page refresh, the content loads inline. This allows you to read the full article, and then read others, all seamlessly. Want the page to shrink back down? click the hide link at the bottom of the post, and it will zoom back up to its old format, allowing you to scroll much easier.</p> <p>What do you guys think about these ajax changes?</p>
